Barium! YUM!!!! I have four of them! Barium is so not good for your digestive system. Did you get the results?

SR,
I dont really care for needles too much so when they did the contrast on me the tech could see the panic setting in so when he was done he gave me the results. I guess he really wasnt suppose to do that. But it set my mind at ease when I left

FissBoy, You'll get used to the needles after a while , I've had so many that I help sometimes . It's just when you get a rookie that it's a pain, missing and stabbing......make me wanna kill
That's when I usually insist on another more experienced tech

Hey John,
Can 't wait to hear what the results show. That stuff is crap-nasty to drink! Be sure to drink lots of water as that stuff is pretty toxic to the kidneys. I only have one so they actually made me wait to get a blood test making sure my kidney function was normal before proceeding.

Thanks for what you said about the pain could be from the nerves just reconnecting. I imagine that is what is going on.

The CRS said my incision is healing nicely so I am relieved to hear that it looks like he would expect to at 4 weeks. He is going to do a banding on the right side to help with some mucosal prolapse that I have when this all heals. I asked him about the pain syndrome and the nerve component of the chronic pain and he said he couldn't offer me much. That the type of neuropathy I have would need to be treated by a pain specialist. But he did agree that complementary medicine could help and that I continue what I am doing. I am going to try accupuncture this Summer when I go to Colorado.

I have been to several pain specialists and have been less than impressed. The only thing they could offer is steroid injections and I have exceeded my allotment so I am going to pursue more actively alternative medicine once the incision is healed up completely and I can tell what is residual pain.

Hey Lecia, That pain will slowly subside over time from the fistula surgery, and you might get some real eye-openers once in a while like little lightening -bolts from hell ! That I think is the nerves regenerating. I also have been reminded lately that exercise helps alot - because it gets blood flow to that area.
I notice that when I get out and busy for the day - my butt has less pain and starts healing again .
My CT scan showed NO perianal or perirectal abscess .......
I guess that's good news - but something to explain the lack of final healing would be nice . Oh well, give it another six months I guess ................. Errrrr !

Oh well, sorry I missed the post till now (it is 12:26 am) and I just came from the party , believe it or not !!! I was feeling like canceling , but than said to myself , oh well, I will just stay for an hour and not eat anything - pffffffffffffffffffft - look when I came back - I can't believe myself - well - I will believe it this morning when I have my first BM LOL !!! I ate mostly veggies and fruits but chocolate moos was too tempting Image - MOM will be administered - that's for sure !!! Anyways - it would be fantastic to party with you guys - but I do not loose hope that it will happen one day - we just HAVE to meet all together , fissures or not Image !!!! I will be coming to Tahoe this summer - he he, - I will track you down Johnny-boy - LOL. My favorite is
Squaw and Incline - used to be Heavenly before my younger daughter fell of the chair lift 25 feet down :pale: :pale: :pale: - and she was only 5 :( :( -and with ski instructor. Nobody knows how she stayed alive and did not brake a single bone or had any internal bleeding - she fell on a boulder with a single shrub. Since than I know that angels do exist and miracles too- when I asked her if she remembers what happened in the IC - she said that she remembers feeling slipping from the chair and than that she was "gracefully falling" !!!???? I am sure that her guardian angel helped her having "graceful" fall and be still with us today...How else one can explain all that happened ???
But, I never could go to that part of Tahoe again - just couldn't face it.
So - see you soon Image
