I went to the crs today and it looks as if things are going to go better. He gave me creme to try for 6 weeks if that doesnt work he wants to do surgery to repair the fissure. Not so sure I am ready and willing. If anyone has had this done please give me some insite!

Hey manduh, what kind of cream did the doc give you?
And did he mention the kind of surgery he had in mind? If it's lateral internal sphincterotomy (LIS for short) then yes, a lot of folks on this board have had it done before. I haven't personally, but I'm sure some of those who have will chime in soon.
I'm trying some creams out right now myself (nitroglycerin and also nifedipine).

nifedipine or something like that. Yes, LIS is it. He scared me when he mentioned i good potentially loose control of gases in later years. Thats scary. How are the creams working?

The creams seem to be having some efficacy for me. I used nitroglycerin for a while and then tried nifedipine later. Nifedipine has a lot less side effects for most people. The ointments definitely seem to provide some relief from the symptoms, but I'm still too early on to know if I'm making any real lasting progress as far as healing yet.
