LIS is not a guarantee to be painfree, but I think that if you reseach here on the forum you will see that it works in most cases. This doesn't mean I would advice anyone to have LIS, it is a big thing to decide and only you knows what is best for you.
This is my LIS thread, you can read this and other LIS threads..

My CRS wanted to try Botox for 3 -4 shots, but after the 3rd shot we (me and hubby) said that it was enough. It wrecked my life and I really didn't want to live with this pain anymore. I feared incontinence, etc., but it came to a point where I had no choice - I just couldn't stand the pain anymore. I had a 3x2 cm long fissure when it was on it's worst and by the time I had LIS I had 2, and the oldest one was deep, and the musclefibres where open/showed.
I am healing slowly, but I am healing and that is most important. I have not had good old fissure pain since LIS. It was bad after surgery, but not as bad as before LIS. And when I have ripped in the 5 months after LIS the pain has been a breeze compared to before LIS.

I agree with Suzy here, when you are too tight you are too tight...
