summary of my success story

Postby jaredsecret » 15 Jul 2021, 15:47

After self-diagnosing and trying all kinds of things I read online, here's what worked:

- My specialist performed a proctoscopy and found the fissure mid-January 2021. (dealt with it since Oct. 2020)
- He prescribed Nifedipine ointment which I began using right away
- The inescapable excruciating pain [color=#000000]continuedfor 3 more terrible weeks after using.
*I began to think nothing would ever work and surgery was imminent
- After 3 weeks of using the prescribed ointment, my pain (after bowel movement) diminished from 9 out of 10 to 6 out of 10.
- After 3 more weeks, the pain went from 6 out of 10 to 3 out of 10.
- The pain then gradually dissipated.
side note: I used the ointment from mid-Jan 2021 until mid-may 2021. supposedly the ointment is very expensive
but I was lucky/blessed that my insurance covered almost all the cost

Bottom line: Nifedipine (compound) ointment- prescribed only, is what worked. My understanding is that it has a 70% success rate.

Key note: I have to now avoid constipation at all costs. I've been able to do so by doing 4 key things DAILY:
1- banana 2- 1 metamucil drink 3- 1 high fiber snack 4- 1 probiotic digestive gummy
