Success Story - 3 year chronic fissure healed - heres how

Postby finallyover » 17 Apr 2019, 14:35

Hello,

I made this account to give my success story and to discuss what I believe healed my long chronic and painful fissure.

How it happened:
I became chronically constipated. I began clinching my muscles as I pooped so that it would even out the rough edges. One day while severely constipated and traveling, I passed a stool that got suck. I forced it out by strainign and immediately felt the sharp pain.

For the next 2-3 years I stuffered with painful bowel movements every time. It gave me anxiety every time I had to poop. I began taking miralax which was AMAZING. I could finally pass with less pain but the fissure stayed. Eventually even passing loose diaharia was painful. I had to go to the doctor because I was getting very nervous thinking it was an obstrucion or somethin serious.

At the ER, the doctor performed a rectal exam where he used his fingers to spread the anus and look inside. It was incredibly painful. But in the week after, something strange happened. The pain was less severe, but it didn't last. I believe my anus was swolen during this time and extra tight after a year of laxitives (no stretching of the muscles to pass stool).

SO I saw a specialist who did another more through exam. He recommended I try a topical ointment to try and relax the muslces. IT was a compound of lidocane and another drug meant to relax the sphicter. I have always felt anxiety about touching my anus and dreaded using it. but I used a rubber glove and I used the product for 30 days and noticed immediate relief. Finally my fissure was healed. But I had another problem. It was very difficult to pass stools still and minor fissures came back.

I talked to my doctor again and he said my anus was very tight after probably scar tissue and what not. He said he could dialate the spincter but it would be a surgical operation. I aksed him if it could be done at home and he recommened I try with my fingers.

the solution:
I read online that in europe, to treat fissures, the patient leaves the doctors office with a 25mm dialator used to help relax the spincter muscles and allow bloow flow to heal the fissure. And I read that this technique has been used by people here on his board as well. So i figured it was worth trying to stretch out the spincter to allow stools to pass easily. After all this is something that people have been doing recreationaly. I went to the sex shop and purchased a small 1" tapered toy and it was extremely uncomfortable and painful to use. But after a period of weeks, it became easier. Then I went to a larger size toy. I ended up at a 1.5" toy which has to be plenty large for passing stool. The techniue is go very slow and when you feel the sretch, or a slight burning sensation, I stopped.

I believe after long use of laxitives the anus muscles become tight and do not allow proper blood flow. I Believe that the occasional use of a dialator device can properly stretch the muscles. I would have never considered this in he past but I was at the point I was willing to try ANYTHING to relive the burning.

What worked for me:
1) Using a relaxing ointment perscribed to loosen the anus muscles and allow blood flow for healing.
2) Dialation of the anus to make passing stools easier and further relax the muscles.

I can't guarantee it will work for you, but it has been 1 year since my 3 year fissure episode and I have no chronic fissure. I do not use the toy or dialtor regularly now. BUT sometimes I will get consitpated and get a small scrape or accute fisure (think, normal) . I use OTC lidocane 5% cream to numb the anus, then over a period of days I will use my fingers or a toy with lubricant to stretch and massage the muscles, and have had great success with fast healing. i know this works because passing gas becomes very loose.

I hope this gives some hope to those who read it who may be in despair. You CAN heal this fissure. You CAN overcome this issue. I recommend a relaxing gel to heal the fissure or to research the use of dialators for this puropose. I believe BLOOD FLOW is needed to heal these things, and my doctor explained to me that when the anus is very tight, there is not sufficient blood flow to heal the fissures and they reopen on every bowl movment and never heal. Relaxation of these muscles is the key to healing.

Hi, I'm a proponent of this method, it makes logical sense to me.

Can you outline how you went about dilating. Like over how many months, how often, and when did you finally see some results? I've just started my dilation journey and am really hoping this will be the answer.
