I wish i could be as up beat as u steve!
what do you think the chances are we might need another Lis and when do we know this???
I know my Gp always said that if u get a tear during child birth they tell you 6-12 months till its Completely healed and she said that its wrong to expect that ur butt would be any different, so thats what i now keep telling myself.
Also Steve are you getting fissure pain or the Lis sight pain???
hope things get better soon for you!

Hey New mum...
I really don't think that much about having a second LIS, although the thought is there I put it out of the picture so to speak, I rely purely on positive thinking that the surgery I've had will be enough and that what I'm going through now is just a minor set back which are to be expected for some.
I do believe that I'm getting fissure pain since I can touch (internally) where the LIS incision site is and feel no pain, the inflamed feeling seems to be in the exact same place as where my original fissure was so I guess it's just not healed enough to leave me alone yet.
I know how frustrating it is, believe me, I want to be healed but just have to accept that it's gonna take time, and I'm sure you'll be the same, how long post-op are you? I'm fast approaching the 7 month mark.

On the good days I feel like I do, it's the flare up days that make me think otherwise but I just get on with it, do you have any good days or are you in a lot of discomfort? I know I was for the first 3-4 months, they was just horrible and I withdrew myself from the outside world.

I have had heaps of good days thank god!
But i have like 1 really good week 1 medium week and 1 bad week and it just keeps going around in circles hahaha.
but this week has been the worst coz all i feel is the fissure like it was before the surgery but without the dreaded spasms.
I was just about to start doing some exercises on my stomach before this week happened i think thats why i am so down coz i really thought i was getting better. rrrrr nothing comes easy i guess we will do sooooooo much stronger when we come out of this hey!
but i know what you mean about the outside world.

Do you use any of the fissure ointments, Steve? Just wondering if they might help you heal and avoid more surgery.

Hi alpine, I've used Rectogesic several times since my surgery but now I only use petroleum jelly and chamomile ointment in and around the anus, basically I'm done with the likes of Nitro and Diltiazem, just like Movicol, they are in the past.
