Hey Sam - I agree. I have told several people. I had to for them to understand what was going with me and the pain that I was going through. I am so thankful I did. My parents have so helpful during all this for me. I dont know what I would have done without them. My poor dad has done everything for me lately and been with me every step of the way. I hope you are lucky enough to have the same kind of support system through your issues.

Before I had surgery for my fistula there was no way I'd ever talk about bottom issues.
I met up with a good friend the other day who I haven't seen for ages, anyway, I was telling her about my bottom problems and then after I'd told her that it was probably a very large poo that tore my bottom again. I thought at the time - well, I've changed.

She was fine about hearing the details too.

My parents knew as they were the ones who took me to hospital and I live with them! They have been really supportive. I have told close friends, and my bosses in work know. Didn't tell work until after 4 months as I didn't really want to say, but I'm glad they know. My boss even came and visited me in hospital!! I would tell your Mum first, you need some support through this :D Plus like others have said, you get used to docs having to look at you. Just what has to happen for you to get better! Good luck :D

Oh please, please please tell someone. No one is going to make fun of you. And if they do, they obviously don't understand the pain it causes. I would tell your mom. She'll be understanding, and you may be surprised that it's quite possible that she may have experienced one at some point in her life. She may have some advice! I pretty much told everybody except the guy down the street lol Pretty sure I'd even tell him if I was talking to him lol. After I had my son, all humility went out the window. Pretty sure I've even gotten my husband to apply cream down there. God love him, he's a saint!! It's good to have people to talk to!!
