physical exercise?

Postby beachgirl » 07 Nov 2011, 09:06

HI there,
I am wondering: does exercise make an AF worse? I have held off this last 8 weeks but now i feel i am getting out of shape! but i don't want to make the pain worse. I have good days these days and not so good ones. I am concerned i am on the border of healing an acute AF and becoming chronic. Not sure...
thanks... anyway. Does exercise make it worse? As in the tear worse? How about just the muscle spasm pain? Does it ever help?

for 6 months before my fissure and piles calmed down, i don't dare to really "move" my butt to be honest. Tat being said, i tried swimming once and it wasn't so bad. But i don't suggest jogging or anything that requires you to open ur legs widely. BUT that's my opinion only.

I don't exercise. Wish I could, but until things are well I am doing whatever comes to mind to help me heal, and that includes lying on the sofa, like someone from a Victorian movie...

I am like you savaici, I try to rest and not "hurt" things. I was doing palates excerises....lots of wide leg stretches when the height of my pain hit (I also ate chips and salsa so maybe the combination? either way it scared me off exercise and chips and salsa and any other food with taste) A lot of people on here seem to exercise fine. For me too much moving causes pain. If I'm causing myself pain I feel it can't be good for the fissure healing.

I don't lift weights or anything, but when my AF is fullblown I walk...lots of brisk walking!! calms the spasms down. I walk all day at work which is a godsend!!

I've had a chronic AF for 8 months. I did kickboxing for a long time before I got it, and I have kept training since. I went through a stage where I was paranoid that the exercise was causing it, but my CRS assured me it was ok. I took 4 weeks off training to see if it made a difference and it didn't change, if anything I felt worse from the lack of exercise! If you're not exercising already my advice would be to start slowly and just listen to your body. If it seems to make it worse then stop.

I am also very active with weight training and zumba classes I have not let this fissure take the best of me even when I spend nights sleepless with pain.
But in some cases the pain is sunbearablele that even the strongessuccumbmb to it, so it depends on the person and how well they feel to do exercises while suffering with fissures pain.
