Using Wet Wipes At Work & Drying (need some tips please)

Postby fissurepaingy » 18 Dec 2011, 13:47

So, I'm recovering from my 2nd fistulotomy now, and it's going nicely. I'm still not brave enough to stop using wet wipes and go back to normal toilet paper, don't know if I'll ever be! Anyway, my bm's used to be timed perfectly for the morning. That way I could go, then wipe or hope in the bath afterwards, then dry with a blow dryer (on cool setting of course). Somehow my bm's timing got off and now I end up going mid-day at work. I always have wet wipes with me and use them. Well, after that I have a moist bottom all day! And we all know moisture can cause itching and irritation... BUT how in the heck do I dry at work? Don't have the option to start up a blow dryer there! Just wondering what you guys have done as far as wet-wiping at work after BM's?

Could you perhaps buy some gauze squares and tuck them there? They would keep the area dry and absorb the moisture.

That's an idea. I guess I could take some gauze with me and sort of just use it to pat dry after using the wet wipes..... oh the things we must do to take care of our injured bottoms!

When I had my fistulotomy, I was given some squares of like flat cotton wool stuff that I had to put on the wound and leave there, and change them every few hours. They were quite absorbent - I'm sure they must be available OTC!
