Is this the same as movicol in the uk?? I started mine yesterday but I'm suffering terrible with wind. Does any one know if this is common?? My stomach rumbles and then it starts and doesn't stop!! I'm hoping this settles in a few days, maybe it's just my system getting used to it. I've also started my diltiazem cream so maybe it's due to my sphincter relaxing a bit more. That is a relief!! Not "clenched" since last night!! Love the way you can be so graphic on here. It really helps to talk!!! Xx

I take Miralax here in the US. I have heard many boardies in the UK say they do get the same symptoms as you, I have no problems with it at all.

I started the Miralax yesterday. I took it a little earlier this afternoon, rather than so late this evening.
I'm getting a little tired of this diet I've been on, though.

Once the miralax kicks in you can eat more. It just makes everything flow so nice. BTW how did it work today?

Well, not bad. Ordinarily - minus this AF - my stool would have been great -- and it's not that it hurt, but parts of it were a bit "formed" and not as mushy as I'd like.
Sorry - TMI, I know - but I'm hopeful the Miralax will do its thing.
I'm just so fed up with this AF discomfort, that I sometimes think it doesn't matter what I eat. --- I know it does, but I'm just frustrated.

Really it doesn't. I have always been able to eat anything, but I alway had firm BM. I started the high fiber to soften things up a bit and the Miralax gives you the extra boost. So if I did eat not so good the Miralax would take care of it.

Well, that's what I'm starting to think, too - that I can eat a few more foods than I have been, for the past 2-3 weeks.
One thing - I'm glad I cut out the Fiber One, because I had too much bulky stool with that stuff.
I don't intend to go back to my old habits (chocolate all the time, tons of bread and butter, etc.) - but I think I could vary my diet and still be okay.
One thing - carrots, no matter how much I chew them, don't come out well on the other end.

I have tried all different things, but in the end stuck with my MOM. I only take a third of capful and for some reason always have two BMs every morning. Why not just one? Strange things have happened over the past year or so.
I took a small amount of Colace for a time, but that did not do me well, so went back to MOM...and I also take half a metamucil biscuit/cookie for fibre, as I don't eat very much.

I didn't know there were metamucil cookies out there. I'll have to try those . . .
I'm drinking Konsyl (for fiber) 2x per day, in addition to now starting the Miralax.
Now . . . I just wish this backside would heal.
