Botox success but pain/cramps still agony

Postby Nitsnz » 07 Feb 2012, 17:09

Hi there, I had botox 8 weeks ago, and am thrilled to say that at this stage, the fissure has healed - I realise that the skin is still fragile and am absolutely concentrating on keeping BM's soft. I had my first pain free BM yesterday in about 8 months BUT................. I am still in absolute agony about 1/2 hour after the BM for hours. This has continued, even though the botox was supposed to relax the muscles/spasms. That certainly didn't happen. I am aware that I have an apparently "small" pile, that shouldn't be causing me this much pain, and I actually feel that my sphinter muscle almost is "falling" out of my anus, and I have to keep pushing it "back in" again. I know this can happen with piles (having to push it back in again) but I don't think that is what I'm pushing back up! Is this because the botox has "relaxed" my muscle so much that I no longer hold it back up? Has anyone else experienced this? I am back at the specialist on 1st March, and he has said he may band my Pile at that stage, however, I am really paranoid about him re-opening up the fissure if he does that........

Hi Tanya, thanks for asking...... I am still waiting to see my surgeon - next Thursday so one week to go.......
I realise now, that my pain comes from the piles that get inflamed after every BM, rather than the spasms from the fissure. The fissure, I'm fairly certain has 99% healed, but I can feel the piles under the skin by the opening and they are what is extremely painful, and causing all the agony, so the surgeon, I believe, is going to "band" the piles next Thursday. Can't come soon enough for me - I'm just so tired, upset and frustrated at the whole thing - as we all are on this site....... I hate not being able to go about the normal day to day stuff that we all take for granted. I hate spending my whole day here at work in agony. Luckily I am in an office on my own so can massage away as necessary but just not being able to get away from the continual pain is just horrible. Anyway, that's my rant for the day, thanks for asking........ How are you going?

Sorry to hear you are still suffering Nitsnz,
I'm not too bad in that the pain is more just at annoyance level. Just enough to be a constant reminder.
It is wearying.
I see my CRS next week as well. I think he will probably bring up botox. I worry about the needles causing infection.
I sure hope your hemmies get dealt with next week, although I've read that's no fun the first couple days.
Hang in there!
