:D I'm so glad that there is a place I can come and say hi and not have to try and explain what I'm going through. I've recently been diagnosed with a chronic anal fissure...it has been around for 16 years and I just thought that it was h/roids. (A difficult first childbirth and then 2 more children seem to have been a gift and a curse!) My doctor was shocked that it's been so long. She said it had been there a long time. I've just been referred to a colo-rectal specialist and i'm hoping that things will be all fixed soon. Done all the diet,creams,rectogesic stuff...gotta love those pounding headaches! So yeah, just scared to poop, really.

Gosh, I'm so sorry you've been dealing with a fissure for so long! :(
but what a relief that you're finally going to get to see a specialist and get things rolling toward healing. I hope you'll return and keep us updated on what the surgeon has to say. This is an awesome forum for support and information with a lot of wonderful people who are so kind and helpful.
