My anal fissure started a couple of years ago and my surgeon recommended surgery but I wasn't keen so I persisted with the rectogesic creams. I even participated in a medical trial for a cream (apparently it was a recognised cream but the trial members had to adminster double the dose). I also increased the fibre in my diet so my poo is looser now. After several months of pain and discomfort (especially in the mornings) the fissure got better and the pain has gone. My last visit to the surgeon in January 2012, he said I didn't need surgery. Great. However, one annoying symptom that has been going on this year is a small anal discharge. A slight poo discharge. I have to put a tissue down my boxers every day so it doesn't stain my boxers. Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice would be helpful. Many thanks.
