Internal Fissures

Postby Jackmaniac » 12 Mar 2013, 07:52

Has anyone had a fissure that is up farther internally? My Doc only did an external exam and said I likely had a fissure based on symptoms. But I can feel it up farther pretty much right at the base of my tailbone. To make it weirder, whenever it retears it's always been from sitting down and I feel the pop and pain. No obvious bleeding since using stool softeners, just pain and feeling like any wrong move will damage it. Sound familiar to anyone ?

I have the same kind of fissure. I thought that I had broken my tail bone. It turned out to just be fissure spasming.

Interesting. When I initially started having issues I thought it was from doing situps and hurting my tailbone. Had blood but not much pain. That went on for a year until one bad bowel movement that felt like it had scraped off the back of my rectum. Since taking Miralax for a few months I haven't had any noticable blood, but a lot more pain. I'll probably have a colonoscopy to be sure before the month is out.

That's funny because I was doing tons of sit ups too before fissure. I actually started doing sit ups and push ups again this week because fissure is doing a lot better with miralax. Knock on wood!...

Actually I just do crunches. Sit-ups are too hard on fissure and tail...

Be careful. Mine initially got better with Miralax, but then felt it pop again when I tripped over my own feet. I can't bend over anymore without feeling pain

Sorry you had a re tear. My fissure is mostly an annoying pain right now. If I stopped using miralax then I would probably end up in the ER.

Mine is also internal, although I can see the skin tag if I'm relaxed enough a bit toward the outside (it's more inside, though). My CRS couldn't see it, but I can (probably because I'm way more relaxed at home, obviously). I also have tail bone, leg and vaginal pain at times. My CRS said that's normal with a fissure because of all the nerves concentrated down there.
January 2013 - Diagnosed with fissure. Eventually turned chronic.
History of IBS and anxiety disorder, along with fear of using bathrooms other than my own caused it.
Tried Diltiazem, but eventually developed a rash.
LIS surgery scheduled August 26th.
