I've been applying it for several months, and although I'm not healed, I think it does do a lot for me by keeping it soothed and comfortable. And, fingers crossed, it'll help to heal it.

Yes, coconut oil at the very least is soothing and also is believed to have certain curative properties. It was and will continue to be an adjunct therapy I will always use to keep my butt area from becoming dry and cracked. A side note: I have used extra-virgin organic coconut oil on my face and body for the longest time now as well, even before the AF, and it truly works wonders. I also gargle with it several times a day before brushing, which is an ancient tooth and gum cleansing technique called "pulling" where the bacteria is sucked into the oil and "pulled" away from the mouth and spit out accordingly. Makes mouth extra-clean when used with flossing and blushing.

It does not fall out, it keeps the area lubricated but it can stain your underwear though.

I'm working in SE Iowa for two weeks and not many shopping options available. The only cocnut oil the grocery store had is '100% coconut oil, non-hydrogenated'. I've tried it and it actually feels ok, but it is not the extra virgin variety. I wonder exactly what the differences are, like how it's processed, etc.?

Basically, should I use it in this form? I have already and haven't keeled over yet. Thought it was worth bringing up about what kind it is and maybe what it means.
