Olive oil, in food; coconut oil on fissure and outside. A lot on here about the benefits, especially of coconut oil.

I always put a lot of olive oil on my food at dinner time. I just put it in brown rice, veggies, on chicken or fish, or on bread (unlike some others, I don't really have a problem with bread as long as I don't overdo it). It seems to help with soft stools.
I don't use coconut oil. I tried to use it on my fissure, but it burnt like heck, so I stopped. It's good for cooking, though!
January 2013 - Diagnosed with fissure. Eventually turned chronic.
History of IBS and anxiety disorder, along with fear of using bathrooms other than my own caused it.
Tried Diltiazem, but eventually developed a rash.
LIS surgery scheduled August 26th.

Olive oil, grapeseed oil, almond oil, sesame oil (or practically any oil) in food. Coconut oil and vitamin e oil on the fissure.
I don't have a problem with a small amount of bread either. It seems like the way bread breaks down is irritating though, so I don't eat too much of it. I can't eat oatmeal anymore either. :/

I bought some rudis gluten free soy free dairy free cinnamon raisin bread in the frozen organic section at krogers market. It's been treating my butt well. It made with rice flour and soft fluffy stuff like raisins...

I use a good glug of olive oil on my food. I also add ground flax seeds to soups. They seem to really help keep things soft and regular.
