The three must foods for fissure sufferers

Postby putty » 13 Aug 2013, 17:40

1.  Apple sauce everyday
2.  Lettuce Salad with tomatoes, cumcumbers with an oil based dressing, like Italian
3.  Potatoes either as a salad or mashed, or cooked.  (not fries)
Put that together with a 1/2 mile walk daily and you should see improvement, in the opinion of this healing patient.  (No more fissure, and no more pain, just very mild irritation, which is receeding. Also using a gel containing witch hazel, phenylephrine hcl, proplyene glycol, vitamin E from Walgreen. COOLING JEL

Apples pureed are fab! :) BUT personally, I have to be a little more careful with mashed potatoes (especially if milk & butter is added!)

It is great it is advantageous for you!
However, I do not think that potatoes are actually as good for everyone.
Personally my stool was always more solid (sorry for details Image ) after having potatoes so they were one of first products I deleted from my list of beneficial food products.

Ground flax seeds and olive oil are great for keeping things regular and smooth.

I am surprised some people have trouble with potatoes.  By all means, eat what makes you feel the best.  I'm only providing what works for me.  Do you think it is the quantity of food, or potatoes?  I am not a big eater.  I only eat twice a day, and start out with bran cereal in the morning . . .  This is true: I lived with two women in my life.  They ate almost twice as much as me.  One, outweighed me; the other kept the weight off by constantly running.  But she was a huge eater.

Since I am two weeks on fiber diet I am sure that I would feel the best right after having steak + bear Image What would happen next day I dont't even want to imagine...

Sorry for being niggling but the title of your post doesn't sound like you would.

Yes, you are misinterpreting words. Obviously, "Best" means healthy. Apple sauce is excellent and healthy. Salads are excellent and healthy. And fiber like bran is healthy. Just don't overeat, because that is not healthy. And get excercise. That is healthy.

How about sweet potatos? :) I've read around here that they're mostly ok for everybody. I was thinking of making mashed sweet potatos with the skins, for dinner tonight. Mmmmm

Sweet potatoes sound delicious.  But I don't know about the skin.  For me, I would not eat the skins.  I don't know about other people.  But sweet potatoes, apple sauce, salad with Italian dressing, and maybe a little serving of BBQ pulled pork, and you got me hooked.  I'm in. That's just my opinion.

Dear putty. I know exactly what you meant. Writing about beer (not a bear Image ) and a steak it was a was joke of course (that's why I put Image icon there) Please don't take everything so seriously. Sorry if it was not clear to you.
We need to chill out both ourselves and our sphincters - it is good for our AF's.
In Poland we do not eat skin of potatoes at all but I would assume it could be the healthiest part of it because it probably contains a lot of good fibre.
I love all kind of BBQ meat, but again I don't think it would be the best choice for fissure fighters. Probably chicken would be the best choice but it is not that delicious.
