Sorry to hear that you are in pain too. We unite in this grief.
I actually had 2 LIS surgeries done because I tore a month after the first one and the doc said he cut the muscle very conservatively. He cut a bit more the second time but I think my root problem, which is pelvic dyssynergia, was left undiagnosed until recently. So may be the LIS did help heal the fissure but the muscle continues to be painful. It's all so complicated, I don't think there is a clear cut solution to my problem. I am due to start biofeedback but I have no will. I an just so exhausted with trying and trying and seeing no results. I am so fearful if starting something again and having to deal with more disappointment.

SSK please let us know how your biofeedback goes. Does this involve massaging the muscle? Electronic galvinatization? hope you get some relief.

I agree with you this is so complicated and its hard to get my head around it too but please be hopeful that something will work for you. I've been reading more about pelvic floor dysfunctions which has helped me understand it better.

Any updates?

I'm continuing physical therapy but only external massage and stretches because the internal massage was irritating the area. I haven't seen a remarkable difference but I've had only 5 sessions so far. So we'll see. Like I had said, I don't have pain everyday but on random days after being painless for 10-15 days I can get pretty severe pain. That can last anywhere from 2-3 days to a week. Very confusing.
I'm trying to keep stress levels low and that might be helping overall I think. Oh and I'm now using a Squatty potty for BMs because I hear it helps in full evacuation. I'll update if I see a major improvement.

I've been reading the book A Headache in the Pelvis and learning a lot about pelvic floor pain perhaps it might be of interest to you.

I am coming up on my one year date of my second lis surgery.....still have this persistent soreness/burning which is taking a mental toll...have also gone through physical therapy for pelvic floor dysfunction but no relief...actually the levator spasms are the bigger problem now as they happen everyday,last a few hours and get very uncomfortable.The only thing I am grateful for is the absence of pain and bleeding during a bowel movement. Waiting patiently for the day when I can lead a normal life. What is surprising is that they cannot find a reason for this low level burning and soreness.

Did they say anything about your pelvic floor muscles?

All they have said is that the muscle is very tight....have tried valium suppositories and physical therapy....nothing..Nobody has any answers and it is not their fault....sometimes there are mysteries of medicine for which there is no diagnosis...hopefully time will heal.
