Yes, we have to pay. If we have good health insurance, that will cover most of the cost. People with more basic insurance have to pay a lot of the cost, and if you have no insurance, you have to pay the full cost.
How is it in Norway?
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

You only pay like $40 yourself and the rest is free. There is no insurance for healthcare here.

That's how it should be, in my opinion. It's nearly the same in Britain (where I grew up). You can buy insurance and use private doctors and hospitals if you want to, but the National Health Service is free for everyone. I wish we could have that here.

Well i wish there was better private options if you did not want to wait to long. But the private section is most for plastic surgery.

Norway, being about the 5th richest country in the world, with a relatively small population, might be the reason that medical treatment is almost free. I lived in Denmark, and a similar situation existed there.
