No More Chronic Diarrhea

Postby chachacha » 24 Feb 2015, 11:26

I had LIS 5 weeks ago and before that also suffered from chronic diarrhea for two years. I had tried everything (I thought), including fiber changes in my diet, eliminating certain food groups (dairy, lactose), 4 VERY expensive probiotics, but nothing helped.

After LIS though, I stopped drinking coffee (because to me, it was always what I enjoyed while sitting at my computer first thing in the morning, and lying on the couch seemed more like a tea "thing"), and started having two cups of tea every day instead. I have no idea if or how this change could be related, but I have not had one episode of diarrhea since then.

I'm posting this now, in case someone else suffering from diarrhea may experience a similar effect if they change from coffee to tea!

Just regular Tetley or Red Rose. Google seems to support the idea that tea can help with diarrhea, so I don't believe that this is just coincidence.

How are you doing these days? I hope that things are improving for you.

That's very interesting. I am doing okay. Thanks for asking. Very sore today as I had explosive diarrhea myself followed by a visit to my CRS, involving some pulling and prodding. I got pelvic floor botox last Friday and it started to kick in, I think, but has given me weird muscles to deal with down there and they still won't relax yet to BM so it feels like ripping and tearing. Despite all that the CRS says that my wound is half the size it was when he made it 2 weeks ago so that is really good news that I am clinging to. He also said he didn't see a fissure so I am also clinging to that. He also said it didn't look infected so good news all around but I have to be more patient yet...

I have had more explosive diarrhea than I care to remember, and it can really, really hurt fissures and hemmorhoids. I imagine that it would really burn any wound in the area as well, and am so sorry that you're suffering so much.

VERY good news about the wound being so much smaller now though, and that the fissure may also be healed now too. I would be clinging to those bits of good news in a big way too!

I hope that things keep going in the right direction.
