If you were to try to describe your pain to someone who knows nothing about fissures, how might you descibe it? I thought this would add a little humor to the day.

For me the pain starts with the feeling that a hornet is going to town on my backside... This is pre BM and means a BM is imminent.

I then proceed to get myself into the "try not to pass out" position with one hand on the sink and the other on the towel rack as I brave for the BM. When the BM finally occurs it's as if I am passing a Chinese throwing star sideways through my anus.

After my BM I jump into the tub as the feeling of my insides being set on fire and tiny people wearing spurs and doing the do-si-do in my bottom sets in. This feeling gradually becomes a pain in my backside that would be akin to the sensation of lemon juice being poured on my open eyeball. This lasts for 3-5 hours and then sweet relief until tomorrow

Yanging

My pain varies. Sometimes I just itch, sometimes I itch and burn, feels like a lump of hot coal is stuck in there. Other times I get anal muscle spasm that can last for days on end. That's the worst it bothers me to the point that my blood pressure rises because I am in constant inner angst, not agony though but irritating and life effecting.

Today: thank god I am pretty good, tomorrow who knows.
