Sentinel Pile Pulling on Fissure?

Postby anniebee » 14 Sep 2015, 10:43

I "think" I have hems finally under control but during and after Bm I still have horrible burning and pinching pain plus spasms. I have a sentinel pile and it feels like it is pulling on the fissure, if that makes any sense. The sentinel pile hurts badly for hours and hours after BM and is sore to the touch. Can sentinel piles cause a lot of pain because from reading here, it sounds like most people say they are fairly painless? Appreciate your input on sentinel piles hurting.

I can't remember if you have had LIS or not. I did not. I had spasms of severe intensity for nearly two years, and I started self-dilating (something quite a few surgeons recommend, even after surgery), and though things are not perfect, it worked to remove the excruciating spasms. Read my posts and you will see how it worked for me (and for others, I might add; I just stayed on to be one of the Admins!).

Before I had LIS, I also felt that much of my pain was coming from the sentinel pile, but wasn't sure. The pain seemed to be centred there and it was also very tender. I never did figure it out for sure, but I certainly felt that it might have been.

I know how that feels, anniebee. I had spasms for going on 18 months, with worse pain than having a baby, every single day. I lost over 30 pounds in weight and sent my days lying on the sofa on my side. I ate baby food for all that time, putting all my food in consommé to be able to eat at all. I only slept at night with the aid of a muscle relaxant which I thank providence my doctor would prescribe. I paid a lot of money to see specialists (I had to fly for nearly 2 hours from my home for this). In the very depth of this pain was when I started dilating witha 9mm pediatric dilator, gradually over months, every other day, doing this. Gradually and suddenly the spasms stopped, and after a period of time I stopped dilating and started to eat 'adult' food. I still don't eat too much but I put back the weight and at least am not in constant pain. That is my story.

(Savaici), that is a long long time to be in pain. I also spend most of day lying in bed. I also have thought of baby food but just can't bring myself to do it. The dilator sounds scary to me. I have to lean more about it. This is a tough way to live. It just destroys everything. Glad to hear you got better. I just don't understand why doctors do not know more.

Dilation sounded scary to me too, but read about it a bit on here and you will see those not on the group anymore who it helped. Use the search that is below that sits between FAQ and Portal above (not the one on the right) where you can search by topic.
