Session #6 yesterday, my first full treatment. 1.5 hours at 2.4 ATM, with an additional 15 minutes for descent and ascent, making for 2 hours total in that horrible glass tube. 34 more to go.

Hi OMB,

So I have done 9 treatments so far, but only 4 at full pressure and duration. I will say that the pain goes down after the treatment each time. I still have blood though, which is a bummer. Good news is that I threatened my life one too many times to my family and they insisted that I go to a psychiatrist voluntarily or they would have me committed, but the guy was cool and gave me Klonapin, which should completely zonk me day and night. I'll save it for my next really bloody depressing day.

Oh asdf, I'm so sorry you are suffering from the mental effects as much as the physical ones too. I've been so so bad and down before, I can relate to how you're feeling. Are you taking any anti depressants at all?? They really helped me climb out of the dark hole I'd descended into. I can mostly stay hopeful and positive now... Even though no end is in sight for me yet.

I think the trick is to keep telling yourself that this time next year things will be totally different. Make plans and strive to keep them. You're young... You have many many years ahead of you... And I promise they won't be plagued with your fissure for ever.

Thank you so much. I have been doing OK with the HBOT, and the head doctor at the facility is a really good guy who has offered to help as much as possible even though this is not his particular "area of expertise". Unfortunately, my family actually HATES me to the point where I believe I will be kicked out of the home where I grew up very soon, like uhhh, tomorrow morning...That's unfortunate for me. I'll have to figure things out, but because I am on disability, I can't very well earn much money. I'm trying to be cool about it, thank valium, but things are going very poorly for me right now. I have tried some anti-depressents but actually don't think they are needed in my case, and can be constipating too. My doctor prescribed valium for the hyperbaric tank and told me that it would be fine to take additional pills if I have some really upsetting days. He said if I feel I am taking extra all the time, then anti-depressents would be better because they are not habit forming.

Wow.... You certainly have got a lot going on at the moment haven't you?!
I'm sure your family won't kick you out of the house whilst you are in this condition, so soon after surgery? I'm sure they don't actually hate you!

I hope your butt AND home life start to settle down... You could do with a break!

Hi. OMB, Thanks so much. I'm more embarrassed talking about this than my butt actually, but I have to ask for you to please check my sanity. my mom insists on remodeling the kitchen in our suburban home, which would be a months-long undertaking and significantly disrupt my BM routine. Back in September, I asked that it be delayed until after my LIS procedure was healed up, but that never happened, and as you know, I've had a ton of procedures since, and another surgery, the y-v, back in February, that is now also still bleeding and aching as I type this. My mother insists to move forward with the remodeling, even though I've requested time and again to hold off because I am now undergoing more procedures and potentially further surgery...Am I being insensitive or a lunatic? This is a tiny bit of the massive amount of arguments we've had over the past 22 months, all due to my botched hemm surgery, that I am now seriously worried I will be escorted out of my house by police officers or come home to find hte locks changed any minute.

Well, I can't really comment on your family life without hearing both sides of the arguments... It's really not my place.
I could only suggest coming to a compromise.... Maybe involving the kitchen fitters not starting work until mid morning to give you the chance to use the bathroom and clean up in privacy??
It's easy to get all consumed about our bathroom habits, and it's perfectly normal to have a very short fuse when one is in constant pain for such an extended period of time, but unfortunatly life does roll on and to a degree.... We have to try and adapt a bit to keep up.
Is there anywhere else you could stay for a bit while the work is carried out??

Hang on in there!
