Can I ask what your doc advised you do in terms of treating you fissures?
Curtainly, she told me that i am fine and initially didn't recommend any treatment but i asked if i could have something as the sight of blood is making my anxiety go through the roof! so she has given me some pills which need to go erm... down there... which i pray will stop the bleeding.
what about treatment for piles?
I have had piles for a very, very long time she didn't mention anything regarding treatment.
what suggestions did your doc make about how to deal with this?
she just tried to reassure me that she had no worrys about it being serious what so ever she saw many fissures and my piles weren't looking too great either. i am a health anxiety sufferer though so its very hard for me to take this in even when im told by a doctor.
One of the main things that I feel you should realise is that stressing over a condition down there is not going to make anything better at all, neither is pushing hard for a BM! I know that sometimes, especially if it is painful, it is tempting to push to get it over with, but it is really not worth it.
I totally agree, i pushed before because i just wanted to see a clear BM but instead i got just blood which made me ten times worse! I have had very sharp painful BM's before in the past but recently there has been no pain just blood.
When you need a BM next, take your time, take a seat and just try to relax. You could use some lubricant if you think this will help, maybe vaseline or something and just apply a little prior to a BM.
Isn't it a bad thing for piles to sit there for too long? but then i guess its a bad thing to rush things along (which i must admit i do...) We can't win
I know it doesn't always work that way, but purposefully pushing in order to see what your poo looks like/if there is any blood is a bad idea (because likely if you push, there will be more blood!) and you are just exacerbating the problem.
Totally right, I didn't see more blood when i did but i saw the same amount as before but it was just blood as i didn't actually need a BM... stupid move on my part!! i wont do it again!
Look at your diet - do you eat healthy? Do you eat enough fresh food/fibre or is your diet high in the naughty stuff? If yes then this is one of the first things you can do to try and help yourself and help make your BM's easier to manoeuvre down there!
My diet is actually quite bad... i eat alot of bread daily and mostly pizza's and curry's for dinner... i dont eat much but luckily i love salad so i think im going to start eating ALOT more greens. any other advice on this would be good as im useless at what i should eat etc as you can probably tell.
Stressing badly, although I know easy to do when you see blood, is not going to help this condition at all - it will only make it worse, so try to start spoiling yourself a bit - take some long warm baths, take a long leisurely walk, snuggle up and watch your favourite film, have a cup of herbal tea and try to relax and then focus on treating the problem instead of worrying about it.
Curtainly not easy especially when you suffer from an anxiety disorder but i know you are right! Warm baths will stop the bleeding wont it??
From what I know very red blood like that in the toilet water or on a tissue is a typical fissure/piles symptom - I know it looks horrible and is worrying but you know why it is there - so focus on treating the cause now.
it is always very red both in the toilet and on the toilet tissue which is a good sign.
whats the fastest way i can stop the blood as thats the main issue right now.
thank you for your reply it means alot and you've helped me put my mind at ease. thank you it really does mean alot to me.
