Hey Bambi,
Once I started taking the valium and the complete bm's came, I felt so much better. It's like everything relaxed and I really needed to go a lot. If I were you I'd definitely up the miralax and keep taking the meds. The first few bm's may have been harder causing the blood. It will get easier especially keeping the bm's soft. I used the colace for a little while after my recovery and it didn't really do much for me but as soon as I started the miralax things went very well.
I think the valium kept me from tensing up so bad down there from fear of something hurting and made it easier to relax and go with the flow...

it's probably better to get the BMs out of the way while you still have some numbing effects + pain relief protection too!
