burning on applying GTN anyone?

Postby sean530 » 11 Nov 2018, 11:28

I feel like im posting too many threads, and im sorry for it but i really dont have anyone to turn to for now. I have scheduled an appointment with a CRC.

So does anyone else feel a strong burning sensation on applying gtn but it goes away soon as you remove the finger?

Also ill keep updating this thread with new issues if they arise (really hope they dont  ). Replies mean a lot.

The pain you're feeling on inserting the finger is most likely because the tight muscles are being pushed apart. If you continue to have sensitivity to the gtn then definitely ask your doctor what alternatives you have.
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.

Makes sense but now I also feel that the skin around my anus is a bit raw esp. to touch and slightly burning feeling. The anus itself doesn't feel painful in any way apart from when applying the ointment. Thank you for the response

The rawness may be from tightness or from tiny fissures. If you're using dry toilet paper after using the bathroom, switch to a bidet (you can get hand held ones), or use moistened paper instead. That will cause less stress to irritated skin.

had severe itch last night. I woke up from a bad dream. and then couldn't go back to sleep

Also, I need help in selecting a diaper rash cream. I won't be able to find the name brand here where I live so I would be very grateful if someone were to advise as to what ingredients to look for.

Zinc oxide is the active ingredient in diaper rash cream. Some of the products like calmoseptine also have menthol which helps with pain.

It's not really possible for any of us on the forum to diagnose your pain. Fissures can cause all kinds of sensations - burning, itching, tugging, poking, dull pain, spasms. Don't try to over analyze the pain, but focus on having the right routine to try and get better. What did your doctor suggest as treatment?

he sugguested gtn with lignocaine and sitz baths. thats it. before him i went to a skin specialist since it was itching very bad and area felt raw. the skin guy gave a proper inspection and gave a ton of antifungals with antibiotics and a cream that has dexamethasone in it TDS for five days. it provided itch relief and i think im healing but the surgeon told me to not use dexa cream since it will cause thining and more probs.
You see i have gone to the docs and tried to tell them. No one knows or cares enough. Now what do i do?

now even soft stool causes pain and retearing on ant tears     so depressin

P.S thanks for listening. I think 90%of my pain is cuz of the fact that i cant really open up to anyone. A close friend ignored and another shot me down. Cant tell fam. So thanks again whoever you are
