Good luck. I have heard you feel pretty good after it is done, but I know it is nervewracking.
Take care-we'll pray!

I had a colonoscopy when I was in college and I was a complete nervous wreck over it because I had never been put under anesthesia before, and was convinced something was going to go wrong. However, the prep was the worst part. It was actually worse for me because I messed up the pre-directions, and so then had to drink a whole gallon (i'm serious, a whole gallon) of clear salty tasting laxative. It wasn't fun.
I will certainly sneak you into my prayers. My best advice to you is, if you have a laptop and some dvds, set that up in front of your toilet and push play. It keeps you busy, since getting off the toilet is hardly worth it (in my experience).
After the prep, the colonoscopy is simple. I actually liked the anesthesia, its the best I've ever slept.

Good Luck,
Kate

I am back from my test. It went well, no signs of any inflammatory bowel - CD or UC. So that is GREAT news. I did have a polyp that the dr. removed which was small and a small internal hemmi but i can live with that.
the prep sucked. Using vitamin A&D cream between each episode prevented any burning or drying out.
I was very tired though, no food for 24 hours and being emptied like that. the actual procedure was a breeze. and my mind is at rest that I do not have CD/UC. The polyp is being biopsied but that is regular procedure, I cannot thank you all enough for your thoughts and prayers. They were answered!!! Image
all my best!

Erik,
Great news that I will share with my friend Dwight. He called me yesterday to see how your procedure went. I agree--the prep sucks. At Mayos they are using pills for prep instead of the god awful liquid to drink. I told you that you didn't have Crohn's Disease!!
