Colonoscopy on Wednesday

Postby erik » 30 Nov 2008, 21:30

Hi All,
Well I am going in on Wednesday for a definitive colonoscopy. A good look at the guts from the inside. I am terribly nervous and worried about it. I pray that everything will be normal. I am hopeful that it will. I have so much to be thankful for in my life, realized that once again during thanksgiving.
I am ready to let go of this cloud that has been following/tormenting me. a clean bill of health would be welcome news. I will let you all know how it goes.
sneak me in your prayers if you can :D
two days and counting.
thanks everyone.

hi erik,
coming from a big big scaredy cat!, i would do a colonoscopy again with my doctor. it was really much nicer than i could have thought. i also am greatful for having such a wonderful anesthesiologist - she was the best!!!!! i will always remember her.
do you know how you are going to prep? half golytely or full golytely or there is another way that you just drink pills instead of having to drink that special "kool-aid" Image ?
i'll say some prayers for you to have a good experience and good news.

Hi Erik Image !!!
I am sure that you will get clean bill of health and I agree with Happy - colonoscopy was a breeze - I was so much in panic I got diarrhea the morning of prep day LOL , so I was "cleansed" even before I started with half-Golitely Image Prep is no fun, but procedure is really "nothing" . You will be asleep and will wake up not believe all was over already LOL.
Good luck and I will pray for you too Image Image

Erik,
I'll be sure to pray for you and will ask my friend Dwight to do so also. I keep him busy with my various prayer requests!! I was nervous also b/4 my colonoscopy. I am scared of most everything and also hate needles. It was really a breeze. I went to sleep and b/4 I knew it I was awake asking if it was over. I think they have really perfected the procedure even more since then (2001). I had been having rectal bleeding at the time and was so relieved to know that everything was OK. I am sure you will feel the same!! Let us know what time your procedure is, so we will know when to say our biggest prayers! Best of luck. I am sure you will do just fine.

It'll be a breeze, and hopefully the doc will be extra careful with your tender spot!!

Hi Eric,
Jolly ranchers really helped me, I'd drink a bunch of the nasty stuff and start sucking on jolly ranchers. It got rid of the nasty taste quickly. Guess the red ones should be avoided.
It's easy once you get to the hospital!!

You'll be in my prayers.
