CRS in Birmingham, AL

Postby Paigey » 12 Jun 2020, 09:33

I am from Mississippi but going to try ans see a CRS in Birmingham, AL at UAB. Does anybody on here have experience with a CRS there? Also my doctor here has had me on 0.125% nitroglycerin ointment what strength does everyone use here. The CRS wants me to try botox before LIS but I have not read many successful stories with botox. Somebody PLEASE help me!

I don't recall what strength nitroglycerin ointments I was given, but you can compare it to the prescription called Rectogesic to see where yours stands.

I had Botox for my fissure and it healed. It took a while though, but I still have residual pain which is caused by pelvic floor tension. That's something I'll probably need more Botox for. It's a good option to try before LIS if you don't want to get surgery.
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy
