Date for botox

Postby mumof2 » 07 Jan 2011, 07:17

Hello,
Thought it would be sooner but got date for botox for 2nd Feb.
I am so scared of it not working. I had it done 2 years ago and it eased the pain to a manageable level but didn't get rid of it completly. I guess it will be LIS for me if it doesn't.
I feel bad but I only end up coming on here when I am not coping very well. I made a new years resolution not to let it get me down so much but that lasted about 3 days. Sorry just need to vent as other people just dont get the effect this has on your life. I am an anxious person anyway so that doesn't help.
Thanks for replies to my other posts. Think I will give movicol a try instead of normocol for a bit.
Take care everyone.
Sarah.

Hey there, I looked up Normacol and it looks like a bulk-adding laxative. So it may make stools bigger (disclaimer: I don't know personally as I've never tried it). Anyhow Movicol wouldn't be bad to try as it'll soften things up and shouldn't make stools bigger.
I'm an anxious person too and know where you're coming from :) Hope Botox goes well for you this time. I tried it too and ended up getting LIS, but know that I couldn't have done so with total peace of mind until I tried everything else possible. So you're on a path well traveled, for what it's worth Image

So I had my first round of botox on Nov. 16th and it did help a little after a week or two, but things weren't "gone" and the skin tag was still bothering me quite a bit. I saw the Dr. on Dec. 22nd for a follow-up and was really disappointed he wasn't ready to just do the LIS, just because I have been so anxious and was tired of this controlling my life so much. Then I had to wait until Jan. 4th to have the 2nd round done. I haven't been on very much the past few days and I am happy to report (knock on wood!) that I have really seen a difference this time around. The CRS's thoughts were that things were really on an upswing and trying to heal and that hopefully this would just provide the support I needed. I have really tried to stay positive, but it is much easier to be positive when things are better! Even the skin tag seems to be reducing in size. He still has me using the Nifedipine until two weeks of no pain or bleeding - so a week from Tuesday (really Monday). Hopefully things will continue to go well and I will finally be done with this! But just wanted to give a positive for botox, even if you end up needing a 2nd round. Good luck and try to be easy on yourself.

Hey Bambi,
I was wondering how you've been since your second round of botox. It's so good to hear things are going good!!!

Bambi,
Good for you! If Botox worked for no one, I think the docs would stop doing/trying it as a treatment. They do that at Mayo's if ointments don't seem to be doing the trick. That would have been the next type of treatment I would have tried. Good luck!!
