Day 2 recovery

Postby shouldi » 29 Nov 2012, 02:32

Hi All,
Thanks Lauren for reassuing me that its quite normal not to have a BM the following day after surgery, i was getting a bit worried..
Antibiotics seem to be working still very uncomfortable on the 1 injection site, keeping icepacks on it, but getting easier, only got up once in the night and took some paracetamol, felt like i needed a BM this am sat on toilet for 30 minutes and managed a small amount, but not really any pain and very little bleeding, so was pleased. got straight into the sitz bath after, maybe more will happen later, still sticking to fibre breakfast, soup, and stewed fruit the rest of the day, plums and prunes if hungry in between..
going to try and sit in a bath today and go for a walk again.
looking forward to more recovery.
thanks to all for your support, x

Well day 2 was not to bad.. did 2 walks around the village, never managed to get into a bath, as still unable to sit on the left side as still very swollen and bruised, but getting easier..
got worried as never manged another BM all day and was starting to feel bloated.. so drank a small glass of the prune juice, and see what happens..
Day 3, well the prune juice certainly worked got up and had to get straight to the loo, this was repeated 3 times , small amount of bleeding and little pain, so pleased with that..
still not managing to sit as still to sore on left side..
will do another small walk today and hopefully will be able to sit very soon.
have contacted my work as not sure i will be driving Monday if i cant sit down, all ok there so no worries with them.

dont sit on the toilet too long if its not happening, that can strain the muscles down there.

i have had a reasonable day so far, drank a smaller amount of prune juice after going to the toilet 3 times this am, and going to eat vegetables stuffed with brown rice for tea.. done a 50 minute walk again, and able to sit for a small time on butt !!! still very sore on the left side but very bruised there, just need it all to get better..
and thank goodness the wind seems to be calming down..

I'm glad to hear things are going well - apart from the brusing on the butt that is! I think it's not uncommon to get bruising from botox injections. I don't think I did, but as I told you, I didn't dare look at my rear end so I don't know what might have been going on! It's great that you were able to sit for a small time today - some indication, surely, that it's recovering? Are you planning to contact the surgeon to enquire about it?
A 50 minute walk sounds brilliant. Keeping physically active is surely good for healing because it encourages blood flow. Work sounds very reasonable about time away, which is also good. :)

Hi Lauren.
i dont think contacting the surgeon will do anything, i am seeing him at 6 weeks recovery and the bruising is going very yellow now and spreading so its on the move, done another good walk today, and managed to go for a BM twice with no problems other than a litlle bleeding but i think thats to be expected.. no pain after BM so thats good. am hoping to go out in the car tomorrow and to work monday, all going the right way so pleased with it all so far.. but as we all know time will tell.
