Enema help

Postby Jojo1 » 14 Nov 2011, 20:14

Hello all;
So, supposed to do one enema tonight before bed and one two hours before leabing for procedure. Got up to do frst one and had to go befre doung it, unusual, but just had a bowel movement.
Was wondering if I should still try to do the enema. Since my gut is still gurgling like mad (again, unusual for this time of night), I figure I'll give it a couple hours then do the enema. Advice?

Every surgeon is different for some reason, and some of them don't require any prep at all before surgery. I had to drink a bottle of mag citrate before mine and I got to stay up all night with diarrhea--delightful.
Your gut might be rumbling due to nerves. I wouldn't worry about doing two enemas really. Just the one in the morning should do.

I would only do the morning one as well! if you already had a bm then there is no point using one just make things sore.

Thanks for the replies. Didn't see'em til after I did the first enema. It wasn't fun, but not bad considering. Just finished, only little more than half the bottle and not much produced after that. Getting in to soak now. Will do the other at noon. Procedure's at 4:30. Due at hospital two hours early.
God is merciful as the last two weeks have been really good. Hope that means fissure is in better shape and got a good head start on healing.
