Fed up with this!!

Postby val » 23 Jun 2011, 11:11

I feel like screaming or throwing something......!!
The damn thing's infected now Image Image Image Image Image Image Image,
Will this never bloody well end. Yesterday I thought things were a lot better, in fact I drove and did the shopping, hoovering, washed all the floors - you know, nearly back to normal! Then today after this morning's BM it started hurting, then this afternoon it was leaking yucky stuff and itching again. So now I'm back on metronizadole. And hoping it will work.........

Sorry to hear this Val. Are you sure it's infected again and not just some normal leaky gunk that's a process of healing?? Image Image I could scream for you! Did the CRS put you back on the antibiotics?
Gosh, I hope the antibiotics work!!

When did you have your surgery? I did mine more than 20 days ago and still have discharge.

Oh no Val! :(
Did the doc give you the metronizadole? Have you seen your CRS? Is it possible that you just did too much yesterday and irritated the area or has an infection been confirmed by your doc?
This really sucks! Image Image Image
I'm so pissed off and disappointed for you - that's freakin unfair! Image
Ok - you WILL beat this infection and get back on the road to recovery. You have to slow way down and get lots of rest while you beat this last monster. We are here for you! Please keep posting to let us know how you are doing.

Hi Dawn, Alpha and Hope,
well I phoned the hospital where I had it done and they wanted me to go there but it's quite a long way away and I thought if they were just going to prescribe antibiotics anyway then I may as well just call the doctor and get them to leave out some antibiotics, so they did, and hubby has just collected them.
And the nurse said to go in tomorrow to see if it needed packing. Wonderful! Image I'll look foward to that! Image
I think it is infected as it's leaking pus, and it wasn't doing that before today.
I suppose it could just be that I've irritated it and done too much.
I'm just so sick of this! :( :( :(

Val, do you think they would just prescribe anitbiotics or do you think they might drain a possible abscess too? Where are you going for the packing tomorrow? Will they do a thorough investigation of the problem?
I'm sorry, I don't mean to nag you. I really understand that you are so sick of this. All of this must be taking so much out of you. These problems are just crushing. But if you can jump on this with all you've got now, then whatever small problem this might be will not develop into a larger one. It might be very minor - but why not make sure it stays that way? Will you be able to get it properly examined and treated tomorrow when they apply the packing?
I really feel for you, poor, dear Val! Image You're a tough cookie - you can beat this!

Our GPs are worse than useless Hope! When I had a fistula last time my GP said there was nothing there - but my CRS saw it a few days later.
So I just phoned the surgery after speaking to the hospital and asked them for the antibiotics. It's the nurse at my GP surgery who is going to pack it tomorrow - I just hope she knows what she's doing!

I know what it's like to have useless GPs! That's actually what's making me think you would be better off seeing your CRS rather than just the nurse. It is such a hassle getting to see specialists, but it is really worth it. GPs sometimes just make things worse.

Yes, I know they do, you're completely right! I'll see if she does know what she's talking about, and give the ABs a chance to work, and then phone my CRS on monday if it hasn't got better!

That sounds like a good idea. I definitely think that a post-surgical complication is a job for the CRS! I hope you aren't in too much pain. Image
