Had surgery

Postby Bhill » 19 Aug 2015, 00:04

So i am still fairly new here...I have had fissures before but have been lucky enough to have them heal on their own aND after waiting a few days pass the stool. Not this time. Iwon't go into the long of it because I have posted before but basically I haven't had a normal or full bowel movement since Aug 1. This past Sunday I tried and was screaming , felt like I was going to pass out, and bleeding alot. My husband took me to the ER where I begged them not to lax me up so thearly dr drugged me up to examine me and try to get the blocked stool out. I guess I was screaming so he stopped. Surprisingly they admitted me and the night was hell...it took forever to get pain medication that helped and even then the suppositorys left me screaming and crying. On Monday they tried a laxitive and said if I didn't try they would send me home...I finally started passing watery stool but couldn't pass hard. They brought in a new specialist who checked me out and decided surgery was my only hope along with removing my hemroid because of how bad it was. He said he has never seen anyone as swollen as I was (the nurse couldn't find where to put the suppository it was so swollen). Luckily they stopped all lax and suppositories and kept me drugged up and comfortable until this morning (tuesday) when I had the surgery. They said they get most of if not all the hard stool out and to stay soft and rest for the rest of the week. I was able to finally eat and go home. I slept most of the later afternoon away and am now soaking because the pain is coming back. It feels damn near impossible that I will ever be able to poop but I am praying and resting while having two young kids at home is not going to be easy. My poor husband is already worn out. But here is to a quickly recovery with the use of little pain pills ( damn constipatino things).
Thanks for listening to my story.

Day three...FINALLY went poo! Not a lot but at least I went....at first it was easy. Then a bit later I got a little hung up on a hard stool but with a little pushing, pain, and yelling I got through it. Still nervous about going again but at least this pain was nothing compared to before the surgery.

Congrats. I went day one unexpectedly. My second one was 24 hours later (yesterday) and was a bit more painful and fatiguing. My third one was an hour ago, and the only tightness I felt was in my chest. It had a little sting, but for real, it gets easier it seems! Hang in there!

glad you went! I feel I have to go but haven't gone again yet. I am trying not to push it (no pun intended) and to go when my body is ready. I am still not eating much because I am nervous. I plan to get more mag cit. And keep that because that seems to help. I have also been using a pressure point on my tummy...you put three fingers down from you belly button and push gently...it helps with gas too. You should look it up to see the picture on how to do it but it helps.

Wanted to update because I remember feeling hopeless and helpless and that there were very little success stories. Once things are better coming on here can be rare. I haven't had a fissure since my surgery though I still fight to have a regular movement and have to use enemas now and then. But the positive is no fissures! I am 32 years old and from the time I was about 8 I have not been able to use the bathroom without help. I literally had to dig poo out for every bowel movement I could never push. After the surgent I am able to go without help! The only current issue I am having is some poo in my underwear but it's not a lot and really the problem is the consistency of my stool. The only other issue with the surgery is i no longer have control of my gas and I no longer have silent gas! Lol but hey it is what it is and I would rather take that then the pain! So I just wanted to post so others who are still battling or are first timers see there is a light and there is an end. Surgery isn't right for everyone I am sure but it saved me and fixed me!
