Hello everyone,

So glad I found this forum! It's been awful not having anyone truly understand what's up with my butt!! Now I can talk to you guys and that will be so helpful.

I've suffered with fissures on and off since i gave birth to my first and only child 7 years ago at age 22. I have had numerous trips to the docs, different advice and creams. It doesn't help that two years ago I developed IBS, since then i have had to drastically change my diet and this has helped with the BM situation but i'm still suffering with fissures.
I'm very down as it is now affecting my relationship with my boyfriend of two years.

Anyways I just wanted to say hello and I look forward to talking to you all.

(I will post more details of problems etc in the relevant forums/threads/topics etc)

Welcome Loops. Sorry to hear your story. Yes, life with a fissure is bad enough, without developing IBS as well. You are in good company here - we can all relate.
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!
