Hi im new here

Hi im new to all this im the sense that i have finally decided to get help from a doctor.

I have been on methadone for about 4-5 years and also had hemorrhoids my whole life it seems. I always thought ot was just when seasons changed that i would bleed..but now i bleed everyday & have pain everyday.

I thought it was a good thing that i got to see the specialist i was referred to but i regret that so much. They said they would tell me what they were doing and i assumed they would be gentle like all my previous exams. But they were aggressive and probed deep until i screamed & repeated that twice. I was shocked. They said something about banding my inner hemorrhoids & try to make an appointment in 30 days but i just left. It took a while for me to realize what happened.

Anyway so now i take it the way to go is to avoid surgery at all costs. To never see that doctor or who referred me to them. And to just bleed and try and stay clean.

That certainly sounds like a very insensitive doctor. Is there any way to see someone else for a second opinion? You may have a fissure, rather than just hemorrhoids, because they can easily hide from even the most professional eyes. If you see someone again, make sure that you assert yourself first, and let them know that you will only tolerate a gentle look. By your description of the situation, they should also be able to make a diagnosis, without causing you pain.

Im pretty sure they would be the only doctor unless i went to another town/city. Every exam i'd had has been gentle so i dont have any trust anymore and will say that. I might try another clinic.

I read a doctor say they have them and bleed but refuse to get surgery. So its ok to have them.
