How do you deal with summer heat and dehydration?

Postby buttgirl » 26 Jun 2007, 11:47

Got another question for everyone:

How do you deal with the summer heat and dehydration?

Everyday, it reaches over 100F where I live and has done so for the past couple of weeks. I notice that during that time my bms have gotten harder, and my butt reinjured are sorer. I have readjusted my MOM, etc... to the way it was before, and still the drier poo. Does this happen to anyone else?

I can sure see that happening with all that heat!
Other than drinking extra fluids I take flax seed and fish oil and that seems to help make it feel wetter and easier to pass.
As you know soluble fiber helps to retain more water content in the gut so maybe that would help too!

Yes, it sounds like you are dehydrating and your body is pulling water from your stools. Eat more fruit (you get extra water that way and it is somewhat bound to the food so it may make it to the stool) and of course, you will need to constantly be sipping on some water.
Lecia's tip on soluble fiber makes sense!
Thanks for this particular post, it will surely be of help to others having the same problem this summer..!!
