Have you considered dilation? Stretching the muscles can help with the spasms.

I’m in greater Vancouver. Maybe I should just throw down the credit card and see a CRS at a private clinic.

I’m frustrated because this condition is never viewed as serious by doctors.

You can buy pediatric dilators online and many on this forum use them (use the search button above to find out more). Before going private, I would ask your GP for an emergency referral. You have to tell him or her how debilitating your situation is, and not leave their office until they understand!

They're not cheap, but I found them very helpful though I'm not painfree yet, and I've moved up to the larger Dilatan ones. I started at 8 mm, and it was all I could handle at the time. I also found Aloe-cadabra lubricant to work well with dilators because it spreads well unlike regular lubricant.

To aid with the spasms I would eat less (less poop = less pain ), you can get an emergency 'nifedepine + lidocaine' ointment at a compounding pharmacy, helps if you know the pharmacist. This brings blood flow and relaxes the sphincter, also a flexible shower head attachment to rinse your butt with hot water to supplement sitz baths. Epsom salts in the sitz bath helps as well.

Could you not insist on having a LIS? It makes such a positive difference even when it isn’t completely successful. I don’t regret mine for a second.

Painkillers don't help, even Tramadol. My biggest issue is spasm. The sphincter is stuck in spasm all the time.

use magnesium citrate pills , those are for relaxing the muscles and are known for making your bowel into soft easy crap .
