Well apparently one slice of bread and a sausage now cause my colon to have a tantrum....major explosive BM pain already...going to take a gabapentin and see how it handles this....I mean come on MR colon in the 30 years we have been having issues bread and sausage have never bothered you before so why start now....I'm getting a feeling that a colostomy is actually my only viable option right now....how are you all feeling about signing a petition to insist I get one before February....I promise I will stop moaning then lol

Thanx jim,
Yes it's so annoying to be so far out from surgery and still getting pain. Already at a 7 so hopefully the tablet works as I know I'm going to be having at least 3 more trips.
Yay if we all sign then maybe they will listen....not...lol

The Tablet will calm it down. I went ahead and did my ointment and I can still feel the soreness just inside so yea still tender here as many have said.

Yes for sure will sign - maybe this is where a psychologist would come in handy? It might be good to have someone like that on your side, to whom you can explain the mental and not just physical toll this takes. Maybe they could speak to the doctors with you or something of the sort. Just throwing ideas out there...but if a colostomy is what's going to give you quality of life then the doctors themselves should hopefully understand

I was thinking that of that myself GG but the wait for a psychological evaluation here in the UK is over 3 months for emergencies (disgusting length of time) but depending what the surgeon says next Monday I will put my name down.
Got a number to ring a dietician so I can show that I'm trying my best to handle my crohns and IBS, but the Wait for them is only 2/3 weeks.
If they did agree to the colostomy then I would get an psychologist/councillor straight away, it's very strange how things work it seems all the wrong way round lol.
I don't get it as I'm aware of the risks and the issues but at least I could actually eat...I could plan my day I would need 20 mins max yo change a bag...one of my friends can do it in 5....at the moment I take over an hour for a BM if you include cleaning, sitz bath applying creams. Then there is the 8 to 24 hours of agony after. I know which takes less time and causes less distress....blooming doctors

I'm with you on the colostomy. I've dreamed about it, actually. My uncle has it, after colon cancer, at the age of 85, and he is fine with it. They offered a reversal, but he declined.

My LIS has been moved up to the 9th. That's 3 days from now.
