Hi guys,
Just thought I'd pop in & let you all know how's things are 😊.
12wks now still doing great. No problems with bm's thanks to movicol still 2 a day. Some days I feel a bit irritated after a BM it's not pain just a little stingy I presume it's just scar tissue healing. Also the odd time I get a little throbbing pain where my LIS incision was made all part if healing I'm told.
I still worry AF's can happen again I'm not convinced yet maybe in another few mths I will be.
Hope all you guys are continuing to heal 😊

Hi Edel,
That's fab to read that you are continuing to do so well!! - It's so good to read stories from people that get through this and thanks so much for popping back to keep us all updated too.....Image
There's a lot of healing stories going on here right now and what you describe sounds very much like the final stages with that bit of irritation after your BM. It is more than likely to be the scar tissue settling down as you suspect and that is likely to last a little while yet, but it will get better with time. Also - I found as time goes on, you do develop more confidence that you will be able to stay this way forever.......it's definitely about maintaining all the great dietary & lifestyle habits you've already adopted but just getting on with life as usual again...
You've done so well! You must be so happy......and I wish you all the best right through to the very end of your journey!! x

Thank you ETO,
Yes I am thrilled with my progress to date I don't really worry about the twinges I get, i put it all down to healing. But I do worry it will come back because 1st time I had Botox it was bliss for 8mths, so I will continue to be super careful for a long time to come. I will continue to update every mth just so people can see we do heal & hopefully my confidence will improve in time 😊

4mth update :)

Just a quick update to let everyone know I'm still doing great. Its so good to be back to normal :). The only thing I worry about now is when I need to poop I have to run I can't hold it in. I know it's not good to hold it but I worry if I wasn't near a toilet would I be able to hold it.... Time will tell. It's all good. I hope everyone heals eventually :)

Hi Edel,

What is your diet like, do you just eat a high fibre diet, or do you only eat insoluble or soluble fibre? Just interested to know now you have had LIS

Thank you in advance!

Hi sugar spice ,
I eat a very plain diet, I suppose it's very high fibre & I still take 2 movicol every day. My bowels just don't work without it. I try not to eat anything white but I do sometimes. A normal day would be....
Breakfast: branflakes with banana (coffee)
Mid morning: melon
Lunch: whole meal pitta lettuce,ham
Afternoon: apple
Dinner: Chicken or fish with veg
Late snack: coffee & a Cadbury curly wurly it's bliss lol
Hope this helps x
