Metamucil

Postby cherylk » 08 Jun 2008, 15:35

Guys,
Those of you who take Metamucil--how often do you take it and how much at each time? This is my first day trying it twice a day. I have been taking it once a day for about a week. Thanks for any feedback.
To health,
Cheryl

I take metamucil 1 to 2 times a day at the recommended dose. Many days I forget and then only get 1 dose in a day. I would like to have 2 doses a day but I just don't seem to remember it often! Image
I also put fibresure and ground flax into my oatmeal every morning. :D I started adding the kelloggs special k protein water mix into my water bottle if I am traveling or not able to have the metamucil. The mix has 5 grams of fiber.

The two time a day effort seemed to work OK (for now). I used the powder. Thanks for all of the feedback.

Cherylk, I used it once per day and had great results .
If you use too much you'll be busy all day in "your office" if you know what I mean.......

Guys and gals,
I had a good day today. I am thinking some days I may use it once and others days twice, depending on how things "go" if you know what I mean.

I am just wondering about everyone's current metamucil dosage? How many times a day do you use it? How many BM's do you have per day because of it? I just started using it and my BM's are very nice and fluffy compared to when I use other fiber products.

Hi Jen,
I haven't been taking metamucil like I should. I need to start again. Are you using it more than once a day? I used to take 1-2 times daily. I also took miralax and had 1 bm a day. It sounds like it is working well for you. Maybe the metamucil will help you from retearing? I hope so!

i've recently started using benefiber. in the beginning of my fissure days i used metamucil and it just made things bulkier and more painful coming out. for some reason benefiber's been good these last few weeks. i only take 1/2 teaspoon a day so it's not much.
