Well hello again! I have tried to get back before but couldn't log on but now I can - brilliant.
Here I am 18 months later and still fissure free. The constrictions of my life before surgery are a distant memory, although never forgotten.
I try to keep to a sensible diet with lots of fruit, veg & water. I still take one sachet of Laxido (cheaper than Movicol & the same active ingredients) as without it my BMs become too hard and I end up with a bleed. It has happened each time I've tried to cut it out. Fortunately it has gone away as quickly as it arrived. I'm assured that as my diet is healthy Laxido shouldn't be a problem.
I realise that surgery is not for everyone, but, for those of you thinking about it I can honestly say it changed my life. In the last 18 months I have gone to every event I planned to, gone on holiday without worrying about 'what if I have a bad turn how will I cope?'
I hope all my contemporary fissurites are still well and enjoying life and wish all who are still in pain with this horrible condition a happy outcome, soon.
Again my huge thanks to all on this forum who helped me through.
Love & hugs
