Hi, thought I’d posted this once but obviously didn’t. I’m paul , in U.K.. I’m 50 and have suffered with anal itching since I was a teen. In my 30s& 40s it got worse, scratching hog worse. It came and went . Could never pin a cause ever. Differ with stress, anxiety and I read that’s a cause … but not sure how? I’m 50 this year and in the last 5 years I e had fissures. It’s only ever gotten bad when I scratch. Can’t seem to stop. Since new year it’s been bad. I’ve tried all creams, steroids, anti fungals, stopped all irritants in bath soap, gave up alcohol and coffee. I suffer mildly with eczema occasionally only in small patches , I think I convinced myself it was eczema on my bum too . Not sure it isn’t though. Truthfully I’m scared . I guess I need to make a bold move and ask doctor to see a skin specialist. Worried about recital exams, don’t want more pain. Nobody seems to really care about fissures. Interested to hear if anyones gotten cured, if it’s possible. Just downs my life thinking what am I supposed to be giving up now to make it stop. But it’s been 40 years . Guess it’s genetic?

Hi, this my first posting and i'm lonley and scarer. l am 55 and like others i am really suffering. To make things worse i have dementia so cannot figure whats going wrong. My GP does not seem to care. He just changes my drugs and see him again in 4 weeks time. I am scared to go the loo and have been bed bound. I am scared to eat and have lost 4 stones. Question, when a homosexual has anal sex does anyone know of a sphincher relaxant, so as the pooh can pass easier?. Also i find it easier to 'stand upright' over the pan and pooh ( if squat as normal it keeps opening the fissure) . I suppose i am just reaching out for a few friends because i cannot see an end. :poop:

Hi, your sounds similar to mine. Instead of 'sqatting' over the pan stand upright so the fissure keeps closed. Then shower your backside with tissure. A dose of painkiller before / after should help too
