Hi everybody. I am a female 48 years. Was very constipated last year July and ended up with a deep fissure going into the muscle. Had LIS and 4 other anal ops this last year. Developed a abscess and now a perianal fistula. Tried a cutting seton last Saturday but it fell out Wednesday morning. Going back to surgeon this coming Tuesday. Never had problems before July 2011. Feeling very depressed about this terrible pain that only goes away with strong medications and then I cannot function properly. To terrified to eat anything. Any advice will do.

Sorry sotired...I feel your pain! I am 48 also and just got my fissure last year and had surgery this april.Iknow how depressing it is to have your life thrown into chaos because of this. Since you have had more going on than me, I dont know all you have been through. I do know that the only way I got through it was with prayer and taking it one day at a time. I told myself I could get through today...then I would say the same thing the next morning. I hope you will have a good dr. appt. on tuesday. There has to be someway for you to get relief. I hope you are at least eating jello and popsicles. I lost 25 lbs. in 3 months and havent gained it back yet, so I do know the whole not eating so not to poop scenario. In fact my dr. wouldnt even do surgery on me until 5 days after I saw him because he said I needed to eat and get my strength up. Do your best each day and try to keep a positive outlook. i know it is hard when you are in so much pain, but it does help. I will be thinking of you and praying you feel better! Hugs!
