Pre-heated oven to 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes should do it. I've lightly salted them once and put them in a maple syrup drench with spices once. Guess which I like better? I choose the spices to be anti-inflamitory so I can tell myself that they are good for healing.

I tried some with maple syrup and it was too messy lol.

What I've done to prevent eating hard, sharp nuts, is I've made pecan butter! It's actually really easy! I just take a cup of pecans, throw them into handblender thing I have and then chop it up. Then I keep adding little amounts of olive oil until it gets a smooth consistency.
A food processor would work great and a blender will also work but you will need to keep stopping it to scrape down the sides.

That sounds yummy, though I haven't had a problem with pecans since I chew them thoroughly, so I'm not sure grinding them is necessary. It sounds good anyway though!
