Hi Newmommy, and welcome!
Are you worried your BMs are too soft? I don't think you should worry about that unless you have actual diarrhoea.
If your BMs are very soft, you may still be having stinging and burning while the fissure heals. Even soft BM must be a bit traumatic for your anus, so you may still have some pain for a while. It will ease up I am sure!
Are you using any creams, medications, sitz bath, hot water bottle etc? You want to relax the anal sphincter and increase blood supply to it, to help it heal.
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!
