Hi Rachel and FissureHome,

Thanks for the encouragement and empathy. I'm 48 and female. My doc will do the LIS if this Rectiv doesn't work. I think he just wants to give it every chance to heal naturally. I do appreciate that but am just so sick of the pain.

Hopefully vacation will give me enough distractions to not think so much about my butt!!

Hi STOT,
I do pray that you will enjoy your holiday. I am 35 yrs of age (the 1984 FH is just a year I love). My CRS isn't going to budge on the LIS, so maybe I will need to see what he comes up with. Then I might get a second opinion...
Hem Banding sept 2012
2Fissures
Nitro- Effective short term
April 2013-Botox-Effective short term
Diltazem-No effect, developed Rash
July 2014-Diagnosed High Resting Pressure
LIS performed on 17.9.14
Ongoing pain/re-tears. Awaiting pressure test results.

A few more questions...does anyone here have IBS with diarrhea not constipation? That's my biggest concern with lis. Like I said before I feel like my life is over if I have the surgery and become incontinent or I live in pain for the rest of my life!

My only pain is sitting. My bms aren't bad. Actually when we were at Disney last week I felt really good. I was worried about all the walking but I felt so much better not sitting. Does anyone else have that? Would lis help that? Is that just pressure on the fissure?

Lastly, has anyone ever used essential oils for their fissure?

Thanks!

Wow so tired of this..i feel the same way..my bowel movemetns are a little uncomfortable but dont reallly hurt maybe a 1 of 10 no spasming after no need for hot baths..my main thing is just when sitting..but sitting is something you have to do..im so sick of laying down and not being able to get comfortable..i too am wondering if LIS will help this? i dont see how loosening our anal resting pressure will help us when sitting cause your still puttin all your weight on it..What kind of pain do you feel when sitting? i actually feel 2 types..sometimes i feel the coccyx bone really sore and bruised sometimes feels like the fissure is trying to split open from the pressure..

Hi Fissurehome,

I just feel burning/stinging when sitting. My coccyx never hurts. Standing always, always relieves the pain. So weird.

I see my CRS on the 16th for a follow up and to make possible surgery decisions. Just don't want to make the situation worse than it already is!
