Thanks kpain for your good wishes. Every thing is soooo god but for the anal irritation. I guess I can not complain. I wish you the best with your fissure too. Many blessings and keep me posted about how are you doing with your fissure.

Hi all, I am new to this forum but unfortunately not new to having a fissure. Mine started due to stress-induced constipation, during a stressful time of my life, over 5 years ago. It healed (sort of) due to GTN ointment and suppositories but I have been regularly plagued with haemorrhoids.
Now, whilst I am working with my husband in the UAE, I have managed to contract stomach ulcers, they were dealt with by taking antibiotics but whilst my immune system was battered, I caught a bug from the kids at school and the diarrhoea played hell with m bum. Now the fissure is red and inflamed and I'm back to the horrendous pains I had years ago, making the toilet visits a nightmare.
Anyway, the job here comes with medical insurance and the surgery doctor I have seen specialises in these kinds of problems. He has recommended that I have THD laser procedure for my haemorrhoids and a laser fissure procedure, which I think you said you had, BettyBlue. I could really do with some advice, as I could be having the op in a week or less even.
Thanks in advance :-)

Hi Jooberry, sorry for my late reply but for some reason I am not receiving any notification in my e-mail any more. Yes I had a LIS laser procedure. It was the best thing I could had ever done. I am almost 2 months post-LIS and I am doing fantastic! My CRS wanted to do the surgery with laser because he said it was more gentle with tissue, bleeding was considerably less and the recuperation time was also shorter. And he was right. I had zero pain since the first minute ,I didn't use any pain killer. My bleeding was very little the first day and then it was zero. And I felt so good since the first day that I could had worked right away.-I took one week of vacation do.- Also the first BM was completely painless and easy and It have had continue in that way. Based in my experience I completely recommend the surgery with laser. Notice that I only had LIS I didn't have any other procedure done, so I don't know if having multiple surgeries at the same time will change the outcome. I hope everything goes well for you and you finally can have a normal life. Best of luck for you. Let me know how every thing goes.
