Hi OMB,
Do you know where your wound is? Is it posterior midline, like most fissures are?
My pain is currently fluctuating between about a 1-2 at its best, to maybe a 5-6, maybe a 7 at its worst. It's usually pretty good right when I wake up, but hurts most a few hours after the bathroom, and then in the evenings for whatever reason. I am just laying on the couch, massively bored, and was hoping to go back to work next week, but I really don't see that being the case. I really don't care what my CRS says about the matter. I've had this problem for too long and been told soooo many times that it will go away with one more procedure. I'm not taking any chances. I am going to sit here on my back until I see some genuine progress. My job/social life is a distance second priority, I just want to know that I will be done with this part of my life.
As for meds, I took toradol for a few days after the surgery, but have not taken anything for about 2 weeks now. I am extremely paranoid about any medication messing with my pooping routine, so I'd rather endure the pain. I actually had a few days of blood-free poop, but then had quite a bit of blood today so I'm pretty bummed. Like you, this wound/fissure I have has not closed up, even temporarily, since my old surgeon made it deliberately during my hemmie surgery. I'm going back to the CRS on Thursday, so I'll hopefully get some sort of positive news.
