Day 5: Only one bm today. It never hurts when it comes out, but it hurts like hell immediately following for about one tow two minutes. However, after this, there aren't really any spasms anymore. I actually can feel the muscle lightly releasing pressure now during my baths - in a non-painful way. So, hopefully, that's good news. I felt more like myself and was much more active today.

Day 6: Again, only one bm, which seems to help matters. It's been a rather quick urge when I have to go, but that's been the case since I started all of these treatments. But so far, no incontinence whatsoever. No pain during, but slight pain after - not as bad as before. Just a few spasms immediately after evacuation, but none after that. There was a lot of blood today; this concerned me. I know they always say it looks like more than it is, but I don't think I have had this much in a long time, which makes me nervous the LIS isn't working.

I know it's early, and it might just be the AF acting up post-surgery, as the CRS said it looked bad during surgery and he said blood was to be expected. I just don't know if it's from the incision site or the fissure. Did anyone else have experience with this? For now, I am taking it as "normal," seeing he said to expect some blood yet following surgery.

I keep getting some light throbbing/pin pricks from the incision site. I can tell it's not a spasm, as it's local to the incision site on the left side. This went away for most of yesterday, but it returned a little this evening. Hoping that's on its way out the door!

I was warned that I could see some blood but not to worry about it. I only experienced the pink fluid for the first couple of weeks. Some blood showed up at about two weeks that the doc told me was from granulation tissue. I called the office to ask about the fluid discharge increasing a bit after about 10 days and they told me that we want to see the fluid flowing. I guess if it gets stopped up the possibility of infection increases.

Thanks! I should have read this before posting on it. It's just always concerning. My CRS said blood would be normal, as well, I am just not sure how much or for how long. Relatively no pain than pressure on the incision site during a movement and about thirty seconds after, but from the blood, you'd think otherwise. No spasms anymore, so that's good. The blood seems to stop after a movement, not much on dressing, so I think that's also a good sign.

Re: From Botox to LIS

Bleeding isn't as bad today. The weird thing was yesterday that I had blood with the first movement and none with the second. How does that happen?

Today, Day 9, had two bms again within an hour. The first one was like a 3/4; the second a 5/6. Blood with the first (not nearly as much as yesterday), a very little bit with the second. Now, there's some residual pain - more like the fissure pain I'm used to. This makes me very nervous that perhaps the LIS did not work. I know it's early, though, and I'll try to remain optimistic. I am only 9 days out, so there is plenty of time left to heal, and things are probably still swollen. My best time with Botox was usually 3-4 weeks out, so hopefully, in the next week or two, I'll notice improvement. The movement itself does not hurt, though, I still brace myself after all of the months of fissure pain.

Not much pain, if any at all, from the incision site.

Check up is six weeks out, so I have a long time to go. He did say I should notice improvement in two weeks, so we'll see. We're getting close, and I'm saying some prayers!

Day 10: Two bms within two and a half hours. Both 5/6 with little to no blood; some residual pain for about 10-20 minutes afterward.

I'm about 12 days out at this point. No blood yesterday, a very little today. No pain during, but some slight pain afterward still. This makes me very nervous!

Hi vdb324.....sorry to hear about your residual pain. I did not have LIS before, so I cannot comment on your state. But from what I hear, 12 days may be too early to measure level of healing. It is a slow healing process that may take more than few weeks to feel normal.
I followed your previous threads on Botox. I had Botox 2 weeks ago and seem to feel slightly better everyday. I am giving myself 7 more weeks to heal or else go for LIS. You had 2 botox rounds. Will there be any complications having LIS soon after 8-9 weeks of Botox? How long you had to wait before you went for LIS?
